Term Two is Here

I am a bit behind in organising term classes as I went on holidays this past school break – an unusual event for me!

But, I am now getting back in routine….

Adults classes begins this week, and kids classes start next week – times and dates are available on the CLASSES page.

Mid term enrolments are also available, I simply calculate the fees based on how many weeks are remaining in the term.

I have also decided to introduce casual fees for both adults and kids classes considering that some people can’t commit to a full term due to work commitments, or that they may be unsure of whether they will enjoy the classes (though I am sure you will!)

Casual fees are: Adults casual rate $19.00 Childrens casual rate $15.00 plus the usual additions of clay and firing.

Feel free to share this information with friends and family that you think will enjoy pottery!

Term One Pottery Classes Begin soon

Term One Pottery Classes begin soon for Ballarat and Surrounds

Hello ClayMotioners – hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year.

Term one is a short one due to Easter, beginning on the 28th January till the 26th March for adults and the 4th February to the 25th March for kids.

The CLASSES page and the SHOP have both been updated to reflect new dates and prices.

I suggest you enrol as soon as possible as last term classes were bursting at the seams!

This gives me only a couple off weeks to get the studio cleaned up – Yikes! Any volunteers?

And don’t forget ClayMotion also runs healthy kids birthday parties, creative teambuilding for business and professional development workshops for artists and creatives – so spread the word.

See you soon 🙂

More Birthday Party Fun For Ballarat Kids

I know I’ve posted about birthday parties before – but they are just so much fun!!

This time I did it a little differently – instead of having the balloons already blown up, I had the kids blow up their own….NO, I wasn’t being lazy – I have a pump!! Anyway, it added to the ‘fun’ element!

And this party came all the way from Geelong – so the word is spreading… keep up the good work ClayMotioners 🙂

ClayMotion birthday parties are a great sugar free alternative to popular fast food parties, and the kids get to take a creation home – something to feel proud of!

Parties are $35.00 per child which includes all materials, the aforementioned balloons and a cake…. more details can be seen on the party page.

And so without further ado, here are some pics of the fun 🙂

School holidays (my, how time flys) are almost upon us and ClayMotion will again be offering a school holiday program during April….FEEL FREE TO SHARE THIS POST WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY YOU THINK WILL BE INTERESTED!!
ClayMotion classes and workshops for children are designed to encourage individual creativity, fine motor skills and tactile development, all of which are important skills to hone in our current modern fast paced technological world. Being able to relax in the environment of creativity is an important factor to maintain balance in a “results” based modern society – especially for children.

CLAY THONGS

Wednesday 8th April 10-12noon $32.00 including materials and firing.

This project is a tactile project encouraging the children to ‘squelch’ their feet in the clay to make imprints for a set of clay thongs.

Children will roll out clay, imprint their feet into the soft clay, cut out the shape of their feet, and make their imprints into thongs.
The thongs will then be decorated by hand moulding flowers, animals, abstract designs – whatever the children prefer, and then will be painted using brightly coloured slips.

Parents will be contacted when the thongs are fired and ready to pick up.

PENCIL HOLDERS

Wednesday 16th April 2-4pm $32.00 including materials and firing.

Children will create the pencil holder by using the ‘pinching’ method. Techniques for modelling and joining clay will also be explored.

The pencil holder will then be decorated by hand moulding additions, such as eyes and tails, and will then be painted using brightly coloured slips.

The pencil holder is a useful object the children can use everyday while also being proud of having created it.

Parents will be contacted when the thongs are fired and ready to pick up.
