This course is suitable for beginners and children who are familiar with clay modelling.
Upon enrolment you will be sent a link to the course content which is privately listed on YouTube.
ClayMotion online pottery classes are taught by me, Dawn Whitehand, in a relaxed online art studio environment in Central Ballarat. I have been a practising potter for over twenty years, and am passionate about all things clay.
I believe the plasticity of clay makes it a malleable and expressive medium, ideal for de-stressing and quietening the mind away from the crisis times we find ourselves in. The course focuses on providing students with the fundamental skills and knowledge of working with clay, through hands-on experience and practice in an encouraging atmosphere.
$155.00 per term (glazing not included: these costs will vary dependent on what a student makes)
Casual attendance $19 per session : choose which weekly projects you would like to do – contact me for payment and to be sent class links – 0438382522
Clay $18.00 per 10kg bag – available at the Dunnstown studio.
Glazing $19.80 per kilo when ready to take home, for example – average coffee cup weighs 300 gm so this would cost $5.95 to take home when finished. Glazing will happen during next term at this stage.

Joanne O’Kelly (verified owner) –
My daughter has been studying pottery at ClayMotion with Dawn since she was 6 years old. She has now turned 9 and has fallen even more in love with pottery as time has progressed. She has created stunning pieces as a result of Dawn’s clearly adept skills as an experienced ceramicist. She adores Saturday mornings and her one hour and a half class with Dawn and her peers. She has had many new opportunities arise on Saturdays over the years and her response has always been ‘If it will affect my pottery class, then no.’ This statement perhaps is a review in itself. Pottery Class is such an important element of her week and most genuinely, her life. As her parents, we are so grateful to Dawn, her guidance and genuine care of our daughter and for all that she offers at Claymotion. It is a really special place filled with kindness, passion and creativity.
