7-9pm 10th October – 12th December

Handbuilding – 5 place available
Wheelthrowing – FULLY BOOKED

Please don’t attend class if you feeling unwell. Make up classes can be organised.

The term fee is $330.00 A 10kg bag of clay $25

Firing fees are calculated when your piece is fired and ready to take home – an average sized coffee cup will be approximately $5.95

There will be no communal water cups, aprons or towels, so please bring you own. Hand sanitiser will be available upon entry to the studio.

Handbuilding projects will explore various building and decorating techniques.

Wheelthrowing projects will vary and be more responsive to the level of experience of the two students enrolled. For example, the first week will focus on centering the clay. A beginner will wedge and center small pieces of clay; a returning student will center one piece of clay then another on top, thereby centering a large amount of clay for throwing a larger vessel.

Beginners to advanced

ClayMotion pottery classes are taught by me, Dawn Whitehand, in a relaxed art studio environment in Dunnstown, 10 minutes from the Ballarat CBD. I have been a practicing potter for over twenty years, and am passionate about all things clay.

I believe the plasticity of clay makes it a malleable and expressive medium, ideal for de-stressing and quietening the mind away from life’s busy hub-bub. The course focuses on providing students with the fundamental skills and knowledge of working with clay, through hands-on experience and practice in an encouraging atmosphere.

***Please note that our courses are designed for adults of 18+years old. Students 15 – 17 years old are welcome to enrol in the class if they are accompanied by an enrolled adult.
