Hi ClayMotioners, hope everyone had a great Easter. I had a break from the 30th March till the 3rd April, which was great…. nice and refreshed and ready to tackle term two!
And we are starting with a bang by having a Drop in Day this Friday – bring the kids, some friends or just yourself, and make a pinch pot! $10 gets you studio access, clay and kiln firing.
As well as the usual pottery and mosaic classes this term there are also a great range of workshops for adults and kids offering something a little different.
All sessions are in the shop for online enrolling or call me for more info or drop into the shop for a chat 🙂

CHILDREN
Children’s Loom and Weave Project – recommended age 9-13yrs (this is a guide – you know your child best)
Tuesday 1st May – Tuesday 22nd May : 4-5.30pm
During this four week project children will create a loom from clay which will be fired for strength, and painted. Children will then learn to weave the warp threads and then weave their own design on their loom.
This is a great project for children to hone fine motor skills, strengthen mathematical skills, such as counting, measuring and pattern making, and, of course, gets those creative juices flowing.
Week 1 – children will make their loom from clay, and impress textures and designs on them
Week 2 – children will paint their loom.
Week 3 – children will warp their loom. (thread warping skein onto the loom for creating the weave)
Week 4 – children will complete their weave design, and take their loom home.
Children’s Mosaic Project – recommended age 8-13years (this is a guide only – you know your child best)
During term two children will create a garden paver which will be created from tiles and ceramic shards. The project will run for two classes over a two week period. There is no tile cutting involved.
Week 1 – create, adhere and mortar paver.
Week 2 – grout paver, clean and polish
Time: 7th and 14th June 4.00 – 5.30pm
