Childrens Pottery Classes in Ballarat: finished artworks

Wow, where has the time one? there are only two more weeks of term and I haven’t posted any images of finished artwork! I promise to be more vigilant in future…

In the children’s class this term there have been lots of fantasy creatures, which is great. I love it when clay is used as a sculptural medium (as opposed to functional wares, such as bowl & cups – which is also great) and kids imaginations are so fluid!

There will be some children’s school holiday workshops scheduled during January, so be sure to stay tuned by becoming a ClayMotioner and subscribing to the blog 🙂

ClayMotion Christmas Break up Parties – try something new!

ClayMotion Christmas Party – why not try something different this year for your Christmas break up?

There is nothing better than a glass of wine with a piece of clay in your hand!

This is a great idea for office break ups, sporting clubs, mothers groups, childrens play groups and any social group in general. Packages will vary depending on whether the xmas party is catering for adults or children, but will generally include a range of beverages, finger foods and a clay activity.

The Term So Far – Pottery Classes in Ballarat

It has been another busy term with lots of creativity filling the studio. Students are at varying levels with many different interests which means lots of different and interesting projects – this is what makes my job so FUN!

Here’s a few pics of what has been happening in adults classes in the studio so far this term – and remember mid term enrolments are welcome, everyone is at different levels, so even you are a newbie you will not have missed out on anything, so “do yourself a favour”!!

Term Four Children’s Pottery Classes Began this Week

Term Four Children’s Pottery Classes Began this Week, but it is not too late to join in – mid term enrolments are welcome, with fees being calculated based on how many weeks remain in the term. Your child won’t feel behind as many of the kids work at their own pace on varying projects.

This term classes are on a Saturday morning from 10-11.30am, and parents are welcome to also join the class at a reduced adult fee.

Ballarat Health & Lifestyle Expo

ClayMotion will be at the Ballarat Health & Lifestyle Expo this Sunday with lots of goodies at discounted prices and clay to play with…. so drop by, say hello and get your hands dirty! And register for an e-showbag for even more specials.

The Health & Lifestyle Expo is being held at the Mining Exchange in Lydiard St, and is Ballarat’s own major event dedicated to showcasing local business which value the publics health and wellbeing. From fitness, health professionals, natural therapies to travel, pampering and entertainment the Expo has it covered. There will also be an exclusive farmers market continuing out the back doors in Alfred Deakin Court.

The expo is a fun filled day out for all. Come eat good food, listen to interesting talks, watch great demonstrations and grab yourself an expo special!

Term Four Pottery Classes Start This Week

Term Four Pottery Classes in Ballarat Start This Week

Well those school holidays went fast!

Adults classes are back this week with kids the following week.

Adults classes are available on Tuesday and Thursday 7-9pm and Wednesday mornings 10-12noon. There are a few spots left so visit the SHOP for enrolment information.

Kids classes are on Wednesday afternoons 4-5.30pm or Saturday mornings 10-11.30am and there are also some vacancies in these sessions which you can claim via the SHOP.

Don’t leave it too late – you don’t want to miss out!

And remember that you can also purchase gift certificates for any classes. The certificate is valid for twelve months and are also available in the SHOP.

ClayMotion Birthday Parties – Creative & Healthy!

Kid’s Birthday Parties in Ballarat

ClayMotion hosted another great birthday party on the weekend – this time for Jack who was turning ten. Apparently Jack is very artistic, including hosting a comic writing, designing and drawing afternoon once a week after school with his friends, many of whom attended the party – an initiative he thought up himself!!

Its great to come across artistic kids, but then I think all kids (and adults) are artistic… sometimes it just needs to be retrieved… but that’s another blog post!

Although a chilly day, it was a great afternoon with the fire blazing making the studio snuggly cozy.

The kids had a great time…. as did the adults who stayed, I suspect!

Pit Firing Workshop Ballarat – September 2015

The Pit Firing workshop for 2015 is behind held in September, and is fun filled communal event. Come prepared with burnished pots you have already made & bisque fired or enrol in a casual class to make a piece within two weeks prior to the workshop.

This workshop is open to everyone – you don’t need any ‘art’ or ‘ceramic’ skills to participate, but if you do this is a great workshop to add to your skill base.

For those travelling to participate, there is plenty of accommodation nearby or feel free to camp onsite.
